Sheriff Swearing-In
Donald giving a recent speech

Donald recently addressed a group of new Sheriffs as they were sworn-in to their job protecting the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The text of his welcome follows.

I am truly honored and, yes, humbled, by the chance to be a part of this. You in this room who are graduating and going out to serve our communities, you are the real leaders and heroes and I wish I could cede my podium to you and let you address us. Let me at least take this opportunity to thank you and to express on behalf of all of us our incredible appreciation for your efforts and willingness to serve.

Sen. McEachin attends reception in support of Leslie Byrne for Congress

Raising Kaine External link has done an excellent report on a recent event Senator McEachin co-hosted to benefit Leslie Byrne for Congress. External link We've culled a few highlights below, or you can read the entire post External link.

  • Donald noted that without Chap, we wouldn't be at 21 seats in the Senate. Donald also pointed out (joking?) that several Republicans were having problems adjusting to this situation.

Not surprisingly, many students and their families need financial aid and want to take advantage of student loan programs.

Furthermore, during the last decade, the cost of tuition has skyrocketed, forcing students to borrow ever larger sums. Unfortunately, over the same period, interest rates have also escalated drastically, compounding the burden on families.
